Community Futures are delighted to announce that we will be hosting ACRE’s official launch of Village Halls Week 2026 in West Lancashire, to celebrate the vital role village halls play in community connections, health and wellbeing.
This event is designed specifically for village and community hall trustees and managers, offering an opportunity to connect, learn, and help to shape the future of rural community spaces in Lancashire.
ACRE’s Village Halls Week is a national annual campaign, shining a spotlight on the contribution England’s 10,000+ village halls make to rural communities, with this years theme being connecting communities to health and wellbeing. Village Halls are at the heart of rural life, playing a vital role in keeping people healthy, active, and connected. By providing spaces for exercise, social clubs, health sessions, and peer support, they help prevent isolation and promote wellbeing at every stage of life. This community-led support not only enriches lives but also reduces pressure on the NHS and other statutory services, helping people to stay well for longer and closer to home.
Ahead of Village Halls Week 2026, which runs from 16-22 March, ACRE representatives will join the Community Futures team in West Lancashire on Friday 13th March to begin the celebrations, marking the start of the campaign and featuring a programme of speakers, Q&A sessions and workshops.
This event will build on our ongoing Lancashire Village Halls Together project, funded by Awards for All, and will help shape future support for village halls across Lancashire.
Stay tuned for more updates as we prepare for this exciting event.
