It is with deep regret we announce the sad news that Ron Pickup died on Monday 2nd February 2015. Ron has a long and varied history with Community Futures, serving as a Trustee for many years before taking on the role of Chairman. Following retirement as Chairman, he continued to support Community Futures as a Vice President.
Peter Taylor, Chairman of Community Futures said, “Ron was a passionate supporter of Community Futures and served the organisation for many years in nearly every position possible. He will always be remembered as a champion of local communities, who was held in high esteem by the individuals and organisations who benefitted from his wisdom, humour and razor sharp grasp of complex issues. He also will be remembered by many as the kindly uncle you wish you’d had! The County of Lancashire is much poorer for his passing and on behalf of everyone at Community Futures I would like to pass on our sincere condolences to Eileen and family at this sad time”.
