Grimsargh Wetlands Trust is a new charity that was recently set up with the guidance and support of Community Futures.
The trust is responsible for maintaining and protecting a biological heritage site and its flora and fauna, and is now bidding for funds for improvements such as new pathways, hides, a ramp area, viewing point and steps. Community Futures drafted a suitable Charitable Incorporated Organisation governing document and provided comprehensive training to the board of 7 trustees. Community Futures also gave funding advise and guidance to assist in the first phase of the site development plan and helped the trust to apply to the Lancashire Environment Fund.
